Paid 5 to fit a plate number bulb, employee was unable to fit it though and said there was something wrong with the connector, that it was "twisted" so told me to go to a garage to fix it. Well I lost 5 already so decided to have a look myself at home and compared both bulbs to check the right position. I attached the bulb myself and it works! I guess I should have gone to the garage directly where last time they only charged me a little more than 1 for the bulb or just buy the bulb and do it myself as clearly I am more capable.
Terrible customer service in bicycle section. Wanted to purchase a bicycle, but I was mostly ignored whilst he chatted away to other staff members instead.
Literally one of the worst customer experiences ever (would zero star it if possible). Had a roofbox fitted and the guy left my car in gear (later claiming that my perfectly functioning handbrake wouldn't hold on the most microscopic of slopes when we use it perfectly fine around Cornwall/Cotswolds and all kinds of challenging driving and parking conditions & its been Mot'd and has a full warranty history - and this from the same guy who said he kept setting our car alarm off, something I've never seen happen in 5 years). Anyway wasn't informed car had been left in gear (why would you on essentially a flat surface with a perfectly good modern car) and when I hopped in and fired up my car on a very hot August day the car leapt forward and ran over my wife's foot. Was not offered any first aid and got zero apology from the staff member, he didn't even make a note of the incident. He just shrugged, said he'd seen it before (?!) and it was probably fine then literally went off to work on another roofbox right near by and ignored us. Also we were really lucky my 3 month old daughter was not still in her stroller in front of the car or should could very genuinely have been killed or severely injured.Additionally, upon getting home I found he'd also put two big scratches in my roof - he didn't give us a walk around the vehicle to check for damage as he was supposed to (and as is on the Halfords fitting form). Had to phone the manager and log a claims incident - this also received appalling customer service in which Halfords eschewed all responsibility - wouldn't so much as refund the cost of the fitting. Oh and we never got a call back to check how my wife was. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE AND NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR HERE WHO KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN.... :( (Maybe just avoid Halfords in general for anything)
Be careful when buying products! Especially oil fluids. Please make sure to double check expiry dates!!!
Good enough selection and service in main store, but absolutely glacial service in the bike shop. Have had to queue for tens of minutes even when it's almost empty. I don't understand why there is so much paperwork for even the simplest purchases, and I can only assume everything they store "out the back" is kept in a large pile which has to be sifted through every time they want to find something. It's fine if you know exactly what you want and can therefore pay at the front desk, but if you need assistance or advice, steer well clear.
