Disappointing. We waited for over an hour for food, and when it arrived it was underwhelming. Sweet potato wedges consisted of 1 sweet potato chopped and baked, these came almost raw and cost 4! I have left today feeling hungry and considerably poorer. Wont be returning
Very good menu with some slightly unusual choices which makes a refreshing change. Service was friendly and efficient. I had the roasted aubergine and cauliflower which was very tasty. My friends enjoyed the trout. Deserts were great too.
What makes a pub so special? If not the food, the drinks or the interior design? Maybe the Prosecco on the menu, or the Hot numbers coffee that caught my eyes, or just the green lawn outside the window?
My quest continues to find a good restaurant in cambridge - which has been really disappointing. Another fantastic building and setting let down by its average food. If you want a casual boys/girls night out then this place is fine. The starters were simple but tasty. The mains I had a 28day ages steak - which was like an old leather soul. Not nice, full of gristle and with very bland spicy side dressing, which wasnt spicy at all, served with a lumpy mash.My friends had a burger (which they liked) - but if thats the best thing on the menu, then I can think of some really good burger places in cambridge!The apple strudel desert was nice - and very authentic in taste.We had to prompt the waitress to pour our drinks, and the service wasnt great, considering that the place didnt appear that busy. I think my 3* is quite generous.
The choice of food was good. The food was very well cooked and tastey. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The service was very good and efficient. I went there on a night that they had a few customers and 2 large parties, but didn't have to wait any longer than on a normal night. Highly recommended and I will be returning to try other meals on the menu.
