Myself daughter and grandchildren ate here on a Saturday afternoon 2nd Feb at first things went well took our order from then on not good plates not cleared away had to ask for another drink staff kept walking past our finished dishes weren't asked if we wanted deserts had to ask for menus there was however a lot of the staff just stood together talking and laughing .I visited the Manchester branch a few weeks ago and am going back next Saturday you really need to send a member of staff their to see how it should be run the Manchester ivy was absolutely an enjoyable experience unfortunately the one in Cambridge needed some kind of structure and possibly an older member of staff to keep things running smoothly.
Went there last night as a party of 6. My food was outstanding and service was good so I will give 5 stars from my perspective. Two of the drinks were mixed up (the non alcoholic was mixed with the gin based drink) after a sip the waiter was called to correct the situation and give the right drinks to the right people, neither were drivers but this shouldn't happen. Another colleague mentioned today the vegetables were cold on the side order, I can believe this as the serving process could have been smoother and all at once while others food getting cold waiting for the serving to be completed. So, the food and decor are good but service could do with a slight improvement.
Third time I have been here and the services has never been quite right. We have either been hurried (regardless of being within their time-limit), or had to wait a long-time for food or drink to arrive. They have a lot of front-of-house staff which could be the problem. Other than that - great ambience, lovely decor and decent food. Definitely worth a visit.
The menu is quite basic, not very small range of choices, no vegan options... they forgot to bring food and not all the food came at the same time so there was people just looking the others eating... no complimentary nothing after a 600pounds dinner.I get you want to be like The Ivy in London, but clientele and location... nothing to do.I would say is overrated and overpriced. The food is acceptable but that is all.Menu has been the same for the last 2 months at least...Expensive for what the customer gets.
We love The Ivy chain of restaurants - beautiful decor, great location and fabulous menu which has something for any time of the day. We visited with a friend from Australia, and we were not disappointed! Service was wonderful and friendly, the food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the ambiance perfect. The cocktails are all beautifully crafted and all thoughtfully created. Loved our lunch here, and we will definitely be back! Highly recommended.
