Clean simple accommodation. Lots of free parking space. Good bargain in Cambridge outskirt.
Clean, nice and accessible hotel workers. Also quiet. Just a shame not having electric vehicle charging points, even if it was 7kw or at least the normal 3 pin plug Decent food available in the bar / restaurant
Not family friendly at all - Our first time using this Travelodge and we will not be returning. We travelled down from Scotland to Cambridge to visit our family before Christmas. We had booked a family room for 1 adult and 2 children (ages of the children were detailed when booking). Arriving at 10pm on the Friday evening, there was nowhere to park and we had to wait some time at reception before a receptionist appeared to check us in. We were given a room on the 3rd floor in a designated quieter area of the hotel - this was not requested, we had simply booked a room online and detailed the guests ages. On arriving, my 4yr old ran across the floor into our room with excitement, following the 8hr car journey we'd just had. We then got ready for bed. Once in bed, we had a knock at the door which was the receptionist asking us to keep the noise down as there had been a complaint from the room downstairs about the noise from our room and we were informed that they had now gone to bed. I would completely understand a complaint if my children had been noisy and running around non-stop, but we had literally just checked in and entered our hotel room, then got ready for bed. They were not loud, rowdy and running wild in any way at all and we were the ones who were then disturbed by the receptionist knocking at our room door.A little understanding with this being classed as a family friendly hotel wouldn't go amiss here and why book a family into a designated 'quieter area' of the hotel on a 3rd floor, knowing that we had 1 young child in our party and that sometimes children make noise? Thank goodness our 1yr old baby was staying with my wife at her parents house as I hate to think of the complaints if we had a crying baby in the room also!In a hotel (especially a Travelodge), there will be people checking in and out at all hours, so surely there should be some understanding of the noise this creates. The room itself was OK, but our 10 yr old son banged his head badly on the desk at the end of his pull out bed due to the way the pillow had been propped up for display. The WIFI we paid for did not work. Breakfast was OK. Sign posting to the hotel could be much better as although we know Cambridge very well, even we found it difficult to navigate to the hotel through the housing estate on Orchard Park. It needs much better sign posting from Kings Hedges Rd. This is a trip we make often and we will not be using this Travelodge again when there are plenty of other hotels which we could use instead.
Lovely and clean staff were excellent very helpful. The food was very good and breakfast was very good. Unfortently the bed was too soft for me. Wet room Was excellent. Great value for money
Connie was a star, really helpful friendly couldn't do enough for everyone. The young man who worked Sunday night with her was also fantastic, didn't get his name but is also a policeman. They worked so well together. Would definitely recommend this hotel, despite near a motorway very quiet, spotlessly clean and very well maintained.
