It's not good enough for the price. It has some nice facilities... a lot of it isn't well maintained and can be left broken for a week. The equipment isn't state of the art, just fairly modern. It feels like it's long overdue a major refurb. Their terms and conditions are awful and their membership team will "forget" to process your cancellation then threaten you.
Where do I start.Summary: the sales team are amazing at what they do. Tie you in.Do not mention about the terms of agreement.Once signed up, so disrespectful. the team in the office will not hesitate to laugh at you while you query about your membership problems face to face. When your contract had ended, unless you write to them saying you want to leave months before the end of your contract, you will then be renewed on a quarterly membership which the fees are much higher!!! Mine was almost double at 125 from 65I complained and requested to leave at the end of my membership contract and they said that the 3 months termination will process from the following month. And guys, please do not avoid the payments to them. When it comes to terminating your membership which they automatically review with no permission, if you miss a payment, they send it to third party solicitors which had their fees on top. And within 2 weeks, they threaten court orders and bailiffs. Unbelievable! Also regarding to the sales team, the females, they lie and act as they are all the supervisors and managers. When I always knew the manager was a male at the Cambridge branch.I do not recommend this club! Stay away!!!!
Unfortunately they will say anything to get you to join but fail to deliver on so many fronts. Since I have joined these problems have occurred:1) air conditioning not working2) ceilings leaking when it rains (on going issue - affected studios, gym floor and rackets courts)3) No hot water in the showers on multiple occasions4) Classes are organized but sometimes trainers/instructors dont show up. No notice is given.5) Squash court lights were broken, then ceiling was leaking, then they had mushrooms growing on them.6) Food from the kitchen is terrible, awful coffee and service is slowWe have referred many of our friends to this gym but now we are left thinking that we wish we never joined. We overlooked a lot of the problems above because we were told they would be resolved but they never were. DL is a very good marketing company but that is all they are. Very good at selling a product but once you are a member they dont care about gym or court upkeep and most importantly they do not care about you as a customer. They seem to build a business model out of having high turnover of customers. Dont fall for their marketing scam.
I was shown around by a gentleman named Yaz - I was extremely pleased with his professionalism and how helpful he was! I was shown all areas including children as I have a young child. I would extremely recommend visiting if you haven't and ask to be shown by this exceptional employee! Thank you Yaz, due to you I will be back!
Prices ramped up for a refurb that was largely a waste of time. No parking available at peak times. Tennis courts are poor, seen better courts from the council. Courts taken up by coaches at peak time. Sometimes children are not allowed in the pool - even with a parent - because "the lifeguard is sick". This, despite the fact the lifeguards tend to be revising rather than supervising. The bar often has no beer or no wine or is not serving food. They pay most staff minimum wage so you can understand the lack of motivation from them and the club's inability to fill the constant vacancies. The club is expensive, and so naturally people have high expectations. These are often not met.
