Lots to see and do. Fantastic place to sit and relax. Great for young children too.
Great place to visit. Not a very large site, so don't expect to spend all day here. However there are other English Heritage and National Trust sites nearby.
Delightful place, full of history and set in a beautiful location. The volunteers are friendly and helpful and the layout of the place is such that it is very easy to visit at a very leisurely pace. Usually, when the coffee shop is open you can have refreshments but when it is closed the little gift shop also offers a reasonable selection of drinks and ice cream. Check times and events beforehand so not to be disappointed as activities are varied. A lovely place where to spend the day, reasonable entry fee. Recommended.
Been here twice with my family. It has an out-of-the-way informal quality which typifies the atmosphere of the fens. Even on a hot summer's day, it has been very quiet, which makes me a bit concerned for it longevity. The abbey church is very evocative with its layers of Romanesque and Gothic under the domestic and features a dramatic crossing under the rafters.
We as a family love this, its historical, the staff are well informed, its a hands on museum, its spacious, reasonably priced even on arts n crafts themed days. Pricey if you go for something like the 1940s, or medieval days etc. Plenty to do for all ages. Food is to expensive for a family of 5+ so we take picnic. But, its a great place to visit for approximately 3 hours +
