A&E experience here was nothing for the staff on duty here today to be proud of. They actually told my partner he was "unbooked" from the A&E for stepping outside for 5 mins. He had sustained a bad cut to his hand which a staff member told him was superficial. We left the hospital in disgust but had to return later when it started to bleed profusely. 2 hours later he had not been seen, just sitting there with his hand covered in blood and his arm in a sling although 2 others with a slight limp and a slighty weepy eye had been seen and left. This is only part of the story. We had to leave to go back to london with a cut that had not been attended to and in the hope we can make it to an A&E in London that has a bit more humanity running the show. Don't get ill in Cambridge!!!
Addenbrooks is the most incredible medical facility I have ever been to. The staff is amazing and concerned for all who enter it's doors. Saving lives and those lives live to tell their story to the world! They saved my husband here. I could not be more grateful!
We had to wait nearly 4 hours just to get an X-ray report although there were only few patients in the queue. I just wondered what was taking them so long. Or is it just a trick to send patients away so they dont want to come back again. Do we actually go to hospital for leisure?? I dont think so
Great hospital and surrounding area is like reclaimed land with lots of properties. The hospital has various cafes inside including Costa and an M&S. You won't go hungry here I can tell you it's a hospital for the 21st Century. Just for your information M&S sell off produce each day with the sell by date close to ending. I found the exhibition fascinating on the ground floor corridor of famous surgeons along with artefacts from the last century of instruments used in the theatres.
Fantastic hospital, saved my life. The staff and doctors were friendly and efficient.The care I received was excellent.There is a small shopping mall with a food court and lovely shops to visit.
